“Masks” is a song that’s fully self written, recorded, mixed and mastered from my home studio
in Chilliwack. This song is the third song I’m releasing under my own name (Ted Kim), as for a
near 10 years I bannered under the name “Dear Father”.
I wrote this song as a reminder to myself that I’ve lied and cheated on partners to fulfil my own
selfish desires. It feels kind of funny having to write a song to tell yourself that lying is bad and
people generally really accepting of the truth, but here we are. We lie to ourselves, thinking it’ll
be much worse than it actually usually is, we go straight to the worst possible scenario.
